Fall Off Permanent Teeth
Call your dentist right away to schedule an emergency appointment. It is important to take the tooth with you and reach your doctor within 30 minutes of the accident, as it may be possible to successfully re-implant the tooth.
Keeping the tooth in good condition makes the odds of successful re-implantation much higher. Follow these steps before your emergency appointment:
- Save your fallen teeth
- Gently rinse with water to clean debris, but do not rub. (Scrubbing can damage the root cells needed to re-implant the tooth into the jawbone.)
- Keep teeth moist. The tooth can be placed between your cheek and your gums. Otherwise, wrap it in a clean cloth or gauze soaked in milk or salt water.
